He was a student of Hijner and studied at the Royal school in Amsterdam.
He was a teacher and later director of art school in Arnhem.
Etcher, painter and lithografist. Most of his works are in a naturalistic atmosphere.
Was a member of Arti et Amicitiae in Amsterdam.c
